New York City - January 2023 View fullsize While I don't consider myself a Trekkie, catching this one in "action" was quite a find! View fullsize There was something about her I could never quite explain that simply captured me. Her bored look and cartoonish silhouette brought back memories of 90's and early 00's TV shows gone by - something almost archetypical of her made me feel like she'd been cast into reality from any and all of these shows. View fullsize While the behind-the-scenes for Pinocchio was certainly a highlight, the many other sets and miniatures I managed to experience in these Museums was extraordinary - the carefully crafted miniatures allowed for unique vantage points that, for example in this case, I might never be able to attain without the help of a helicopter ride along! Truly fantastic craftsmanship. View fullsize As a fan of History and Photography, seeing the Museum's exhibit on the origin of filmmaking and meeting several ancestors to my handheld mirrorless camera was a sight to behold - and capture! Incredible to ponder how far we've come View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize This was a very fun exercise to test the boundaries of my camera's capabilities, at least to an extent. This device, standing about 12' tall and 8' wide, rotated rapidly at a rate roughly 60 times per second and was exposed to short bursts of low lights generate an illusion of vertical movement. The photo challenge here was then to reverse the process and capture a picture of the complete device, while it rotated and under low light! Something only possible with a fast and sensitive camera sensor. Luckily for me, my trusty Sony was perfect for the job and after a few round of troubleshooting I was able to capture these blue toned progression of spheres, hands, bombs, and paper planes, that was simply amazing to be able to see.
